Hello Everyone! I've decided to create a blog so you can keep up with Kinsey. Instead of posting details about her development and growth on Facebook for too many to see, I will (try to) post weekly updates here. I'll include photos and video too so you can see how she's doing.
I think you can sign up to "follow" this blog so you'll know when I've posted something new and can check it out (I need to figure out how you can do that. Once I know, I will tell you how).

Anyway, as of a couple of days ago, Kinsey is up to 9 lbs 9 oz! She had leveled out for a week or so, then packed on 9 oz in just a couple of days. She's going through a fussy phase right now - she's pretty good all day, but then wants to scream from about 7 or 8 pm until usually around 10:30. It's no fun for us and I can't imagine she enjoys it either, but nothing we do will make her stop. So for now, we're just letting her cry it out. We're also trying to get her used to sleeping without her pacifier so she won't get up so much during the night needing us to give it back to her. She does know how to suck on her thumb and does it quite often, but she can't always figure out where her mouth is.Last night she went the entire night without her pacifier, woke up twice, but put herself back to sleep. We will see if that was a fluke or a new trend!
We had our first Physical Therapy appointment a couple of weeks ago and learned some new exercises to do with her - practice rolling over, propping her up on her arms, tracking objects, stimulating her arms, opening and closing her hands. She likes all of the exercises except she's not real fond of rolling over. She really likes it when I shake her arms around (good for waking up her muscles). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p67RYkM_Oo8
She's getting really good at holding her head up when she's on her stomach and propped up on her arms. She learned that one really quick. And she'll even figure out how to pick up her head when I roll her onto her stomach. She really is pretty strong!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNAjs5uDnrg
We've hired a part-time Nanny to help out with Kinsey in the afternoons a few days a week. Her name is Kelly and she starts on Monday. I think Kinsey will like her :)
Kinsey is having her first sleep over with Pop-Pop tonight. He volunteered to take her so Jamie and I can get a good night's sleep. We're going to drop her off, go to dinner, then come home and do NOTHING but enjoy the quiet!
That's it for now . . .
